2015: (Written 3 July 2015)
Ailsa now has bird feeders. The allotments have a large population of wild birds including my favourites – cheeky little robins who will follow a gardener as she digs. I love listening to the birdsong and watching their antics. It’s far more interesting than Eastenders.
I transported three big bags on compost onto the plot yesterday. It was hard work in cloying heat but I felt good when I’d done it. I finished my potting on and my seedlings are looking good. If all goes to plan they’ll be in the ground in a few weeks. With the potting on done, I have room to sow the next batch of seeds so that was my next job. I didn’t get it all done but that’s OK.
